I need a good program i can buy to assist me with designing my brand and some manufacturers in the states
johnny’s mombo asked:
Do engineers have a program where they can import the 3D CAD drawing and test it for physics and desired performance? Is there an industry standard simulation software for these things? If engineers design an engine or parts of an engine what is the simulation environment they test it in?
Please let me know your ideas and mention any software you might have heard of that is used in the (mechanical/electrical/auto) engineering industry - from laying out oil hoses for a piston to creating a rotating crank for that piston. Integration of circuits and electronics with this mechanical simulation would be ideal as well. I would like to design the “under the hood” portion of the car with this software (designing the body would be nice too).
I suppose you would be able to design something like a toaster, shaver, iron or a lawn mower as well.

Any ideas are greatly appreciated!!!!!!
Hey I’m trying to design my own personal computer case and the guy who said he’ll help me make it says I need to design it on the computer first. I know that I should use a CAD program, but I have never used a program like this and don’t even know which free version to pick. What is an easy beginner CAD program that preferably has an instruction or “how to” section, and that’s free and able to let me design my computer case?
I downloaded a free version of Alibre Design, if anyone has a free user’s guide for that, that’ll work too.
I lied i have designed a Counter Strike Level using a program called ZHLT

I will be studying for my Bachelor of Architectural Design next year and the 2 main programs I design with at the moment are “Envisoneer Express 3.0″ and occasionally “Google SketchUp”. I have just found an updated program released in January this year (2008) called InteriCAD 6000 but I am yet to try it out for myself. It looks incredible but I can imagine it would cost an arm and a leg.
If any registered architects could reply with the program they use and recommend, I would be greatly appreciative.
I will eventually end up working closely with residential (domestic) designing, interior designing and possibly landscaping… I’m expecting to be back in a classroom for around 7-9 years all up. So if anybody knows of relevant software or programs, would you mind letting me know?
Thanks in advance everyone.
And just to let you know, I am familiar with the following programs:
Cadsoft’s Envisioneer Express 3.0 & 4.5
The “Punch” Home Design/Landscaping series

Specifically, two-dimensional CAD drawings that can be drawn to scale. Below is an example of one (click on the download link to view the plans):
I already know that this is a PDF file, but what is the name of the software used to create these plans? Also, what are some more software programs that allow the user to design plans like these and are any of them offered as freeware?
I have been sketching cars that I would like to build, I have the knowledge on how to build cars. I am looking for a program that I can design every aspect of the car from the body to the suspension, and then have the software show the suspension in motion, and allow me to engineer the car until everything is perfect. It would nice if the program could allow me to do aerodynamic testing also, and have it tell me the dimensions of everything so I could duplicate it in real life.
Is there any CAD software that is really easy to use and has some primitive fluid dynamics software built into it?
I need it to be cheap and easy to use.
I am trying to design a car and make it aerodynamic.
What’s a simple CAD software I can use to design simple stuff like a bird house or a chicken nest box? I want to make nice technical drawings in 3d, but don’t need all the extras that expensive CAD software offers.
Hey guys, i have a hair salon which i am planning to redesign because it is a little old fashioned salon now and am looking to design (like auto CAD software or something) and looking for some free softwares that may be available so that i can design a diagram of salon as then i can hire contractor and have them work on carpantery/plumbing/and electrical as per my design. Would any one know how can i put my thoughts on the computer.

i need big memory for CAD DESIGN softwares for my architecture course, was wondering if this an ideal laptop?
and maybe for entertaintment like watchin dvds. internet. does this laptop seem ok?
Or would I be wasting time? Going through a divorce, full-time mom, and hoping to ramp up quickly. I’m very smart and always thought I’d enjoy architecture, background in software.
which CAD & analysis Software Specialization is oftenly required or oftenly used in Mechanical Industries?
CRAZY GUY asked:
For example Modelling softwares such as SolidWorks,CATIA,CADian,Unigraphics,Pro-E …..etc & also Analysis Software such as ANSYS is also there, so Which Software is mostly used when it comes to modelling & Analysis.
or Which is the Software that a Fresh Mechanical Engineer Who is looking for a job in designing Field should expertise in ?
iam in for a total Ambiguity so please anyone out there who knows better about these things may help me plzzz.
